Lindsay + Nathan [Engagement]

It may have been one of the most randomly dreary days in the middle of what is usually sunny California, but that didn't stop us from cruising the mini- Balboa beach town snapping picture and having a great time. We started on Balboa Island... or were supposed to start on Balboa Island. While we were scoping out the area an hour or so before the shoot we realized that apparently the weekend we choose was also the weekend that the annual Balboa Art Walk chose. Hundreds of people were walking the boardwalk looking at all sorts of art, both good and just a bit weird... every one has there own opinions... ;). So we decided it may be a better idea to relocate to the pier side of the peninsula. After taking some shots at the peir, we found a little village area, then discoverd a really cool what seemed like boat grave yard... well it wasn't an actual graveyard but those boat are for sure soon to be there. Lindsay and Nathan were so easy to shoot and we had such a blast! Check them out and give them some love!!

Kelsey + Ben [The Engagement]

As we headed up the mountain we had a feeling it was going to be a good day. The sun was shining (though brighter than what our iphone had said it should be!), there was no traffic, and we were on a mission to find some snow. We arrived early to scope out the scene, we found some snow, a cool stream, some beautiful aspen trees. We brought snacks, and water, and blankets. We thought about it all.. and then discovered there was NO CELL SERVICE! Something we definitely didn't think about. Big Bear usually has service, but this was Mt. Baldy. No service here. None at all.

Note to Self: Always select a meeting spot regardless of whether you actually shoot there.

So we headed back down the mountain, you know, because usually if you back track just a bit, and stand at the edge of the mountain, shaking your phone out at the sky, you are bound to get at least one bar! But no. Nothing. So we start to panic a little. We found a pay phone, called Kelsey (voicemail of course), left a message, then hung out in the truck bed staring down every car to see if it was them. Nope. Left another message, as if she was going to get it ;) lol. Then the lightbulb went off. Check your own voicemail Lauren!! DUH. Sure enough, I had a message, from a pay phone, and they were at the top! So we hauled major a** up that mountain and found them. Phew!!

The rest of the day went perfect. Kelsey and Ben were so unbelievably relaxed in front of the camera, as if we weren't even there. It was perfect. We sat in the snow, which resulted in Ben's saggy butt ;) its cool though Ben, we didn't notice. We played with Shasta, their perfect little Golden Girl. We played some guitar, and all in all, they rocked it out!

Kelsey and Ben, thanks for letting us capture you both, Just as you are--even when that means Shasta is in the middle :)

Oh Shasta--always wanting in on the Love ;)

I love how Ben said "Oh, I hope I still know how to play, its been a year since I've picked up the Guitar.." Umm Ben.. You are AWESOME! I would come watch you play, or be the creeper standing outside your apartment listening ;)

This one is my favorite! Kelsey you are stunning!!!
